Sweet Shop Birthday Party

Welcome to Reagan's Sweet Shop!
My youngest daughter Reagan turned 9 on June 21st and we decided to have a sweet shop birthday party. My reasoning for doing this is simple...I love candy! The more, the better!
This is the front door of the sweet shop, I bought a round styrofoam wreath and hot glued gum drops to it, then dug out my Christmas wreath holder and hung it on the front door. I'm going to try and wrap it up to save for another occasion. Since we live in Arizona with no humidity it's easier to do that. in other parts of the country that probably wouldn't work. We also stuck polka dots and lollypops to the front door.

This is our candy bar! It was quite the site, the kids eyes were HUGE when they saw it! Anyone could do this party, it wasn't complicated and the candy was so much fun to shop for. We decided to go with all clear containers so you could get the full effect of the candy colors. I got candy from places like, Costco, Sam's, Wal Mart and a lot from the dollar store. When everyone got there we gave them a candy necklace at the door. Then we had everyone decorate cupcakes. I made the cupcakes ahead of time and made up several batches of icing and let the kids have at it!

I got the party supplies from Wal Mart for about $1.00 a package and we already had a ton of sprinkles and decorations so that part was easy. The paper laterns I got at Michaels for $1.00 to $2.50 a piece.
The three kids and I dipped marshmellows in melted chocolate the day before and added sprinkes, they were delicious! We also dipped strawberries in chocolate then drizzled white chocolate on top of them. Oh yeah, we decided to dip oreos too! Everything is better dipped in chocolate right!

Here's some close up pictures of the candy jars!

For the final addition to their goodie bag everyone went home with a brand new toothbrush (which I bought at the Dollar Store also)

I hope you enjoyed the party!
